Why did you start working in the textiles industry?

My love of textiles and design. I’ve always loved to draw and wanted to turn my illustrations into 3D creations. There is no better feeling than taking your illustration off the page and seeing them on the catwalk.

Name Scottish designers/manufacturers that you admire.

I have been to visit quite a few mills but my favourite has to be Harris Tweed and MYB Textiles. Watching these fabrics being made is a complete art form.
Timorous Beasties’ design and print room is also a great place.

What do you think will have the greatest impact on the Scottish textile industry in the next 10 years?

Its manufacturers and designers are paving the way for Scottish based business to be put on the fashion map - if we continue this way our industry will only flourish. Our industry has been successful for years and people are starting to shout about it more.
